Dear Family,
My
hands are raw. We did a lot of work this week. A lot of digging and
brick laying and cement mixing and grass slashing. I don't know if I've
mentioned it to you before but it's rare to find a lawn mower around
here so when we cut someones grass its with a "slasher" which is a bush
knife or machete with the end bent up a bit. But the most awesome thing
we did this week was this: The Relief Society president owns and runs a
little tuck shop in the center of town. For those who don't know, a tuck
shop is like a small self owned shop run out of a container or tin
shack or something like that. Sis Ethel's ( the Relief Society
President) is legit She makes the best chips (fries) in town. She needed
to move because she wasn't going to be allowed to rent the property she
was on anymore so she got a piece of land across the street from the
chief and asked us to help her move the shop. How did we do it? Well we
pick it up and carried across main street that how. It was sort of
ridiculous. The best part was we put it in a wheel barrow. Not a giant
wheel barrow. just a normal little one. The Shop is made out of
basically one of those wooded tool sheds you can buy the kits for at
home depot. I can't really explain it, I wish I had pictures but I
didn't bring my camera. Just try to imagine 9 guys ( me being the only
white one) lifting up a shack propping it on a tiny wheel barrow and
wheeling it across the busiest street in town on a Saturday morning only
missing ending up in the middle of a protest march by 20 mins or so.
The
rest of the week was good too, me and elder Sele are working hard. I
attatched some pictures of my area as weel as one of me sitting with my
best friend Buno (please excuse my dopey expression) and one of my
companion Elder Sele with Cosinati.
Hope you all have wonderful weeks,
Elder Brazee
